Every window in Pollokshields sanctuary is of stained glass, gifted by various people throughout the history of the church. The stained glass creates its own unique light at different times of the day and changing seasons. The lower lancet windows contain windows designed by Stephen Adam at various stages of his career. These illustrate passages and stories from the Bible and have the names of the donors and benefactors worked into the designs.
W & JJ Kier are represented and with their jewel like colours their windows give their own special light.
The upper lancet windows, in groups of three, illustrate the changing styles of the artists of a time later than the church was designed. Robert Arming Bell's artistry is well represented.
The conservation of the stained glass is an important priority with the congregational board.
A separate section on the stained glass is available here.
