Online Sunday Reflection 26 July 2020

This Sunday will be a little different to our usual uploaded reflection on YouTube. This Sunday 26 July I will be hosting live online worship on Zoom at 10:30am. The first part will consist of a short service with prayer, reading and a reflection. The second part will be an opportunity for those who want to, to catch up with a chat on Zoom.

This service will be recorded (not the social part) and be made available on YouTube later the same day for those who want to access the service, but do not want to participate in the live online meeting.

How to access this:

There are two main ways to access Zoom. The first is using an internet-connected Smartphone or Tablet. For this option you might need to install the Zoom app before the meeting and set up a free account using your email address and a password of your choice. The app can be found here by clicking on the link using your tablet or smartphone:

The second option is using your Computer’s internet browser (Internet Explorer / Chrome / Safari). You will not necessarily need to set up an account to use this option, but you can if you wish.

Do not try to join the meeting before Sunday 26 July 2020 from 10:25 onwards

If you have the Zoom app on your smartphone or Tablet:

1. Open the Zoom app on your smartphone / tablet
2. Select “Join Meeting”
3. When asked for a “Meeting ID” enter the following number: 594 384 4998 and select “Join”
4. When asked for a “Passcode” enter the following number: you obtained from Eddie
5. You might be asked if you want to join meeting with Audio / Video – in both instances, select YES or ALLOW
6. You will be placed in a virtual “Waiting Room” from where you will be let in to the meeting
7. Once you are allowed into the meeting, you will be able to view the service.
8. For this first part of the service you will be muted and therefore not able to interact with other participants
9. You can unmute after the service for the social part of the service

OR

1. If you have already downloaded the Zoom App onto your Smartphone or Tablet, simply click on the following link and you will be taken to the meeting:

2. When asked for a “Passcode” enter the following number: you obtained from Eddie
3. You might be asked if you want to join meeting with Audio / Video – in both instances, select YES or ALLOW
4. You will be placed in a virtual “Waiting Room” from where you will be let in to the meeting
5. Once you are allowed into the meeting, you will be able to view the service.
6. For this first part of the service you will be muted and therefore not able to interact with other participants

If you are using your Computer Internet Browser (laptop or desktop):

Click on the following link from your computer: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/5943844998?pwd=V3lVdlBxNzJVc01pa2R2dFovMUQ3Zz09

1. Your Browser should open by itself and take you to the Meeting platform
2. Select “Join Meeting”
3. When asked for a “Meeting ID” enter the following number: 594 384 4998 and select “Join”
4. When asked for a “Passcode” enter the following number: you obtained from Eddie
5. You might be asked if you want to join meeting with Audio / Video – in both instances, select YES or ALLOW
6. You will be placed in a virtual “Waiting Room” from where you will be let in to the meeting
7. Once you are allowed into the meeting, you will be able to view the service.
8. For this first part of the service you will be muted and therefore not able to interact with other participants

You can unmute after the service for the social part of the service or simply select “LEAVE” at any point if you do not want to continue with the service / meeting. Please note that the meeting will be recorded (the service part – not the social part) to be uploaded to YouTube later for those who do not wish to participate in the live meeting, but would rather watch it on YouTube afterwards.

I hope this will add positively to our experience of online worship during these challenging times, and also allow us to interact with each other. So on Sunday morning put on the kettle and make yourself some coffee or tea and join us at 10:30 for something different.
