This week as we think on the beginning of the third chapter of the letter to the Colossians, you are encouraged to read the text in a different version of the Bible to that which you normally use.

We reflect on:

The fact that different Bible translations can make a difference, as can our understanding of what a word means to us and what it meant in its original context

That sexual morality is only one of ten areas of life which need addressing by the Colossians and how the notion of “greed” may be a key issue for our society to address.

That the source of their changed living is the unity they have in Christ Jesus, and how that unity overcomes all human constructs which would divide people.
