3. Lent Study Group– The group meets on Wednesday 23rd March at 7:30pm in the Session Room for the third part of its programme, entitled ‘Taking up Prayer’ and is all about writing simple prayers. All welcome. Last week’s meeting featured haiku-style prayers, with the focus being on the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, resulting in these two prayers, in the longer 31-syllable haiku style:

1)  Give hope to Japan

      In grief and desolation

     God calls us to pray

    For families torn apart

    For a nation healed again.

2) Sudden death and loss

    Horrific devastation

    Out of fear comes calm

   Communities made homeless

God wrap Your arms around them.
